An international annual event, the 2010 Electronic Media Awards is currently accepting entrants from all over the world who will submit a diverse array of web design, e-commerce, video, Flash animation, Electronic and multimedia digital content. In December, 2010, a distinguished panel of experts comprised of leading web designers, developers, programmers, art directors, and other electronic media-related professionals are organized by the Electronic Media Commission (EMC) to review and judge the entrants based on a consistent and high standard of excellence.

WHO CAN ENTER?
The Electronic Media Awards competition is open to individuals and organizations involved in the creation and development of all manner of electronic media - if it's on the web or on a screen, it's likely eligible for at least one EMA category. Nominations are accepted online from around the world from web design firms, advertising agencies, corporate marketing departments, video and multimedia producers, as well as individual web designers and graphic artists, among others. The size of your firm is not important - but the quality of your work is!
Electronic media entered must have been in general use for at least part of calendar year 2008 or 2009. Electronic content that has won awards in past Electronic Media Awards or other competitions are eligible for the current competition.
The person submitting the entry will be considered the "nominator" or "entrant" and will receive all communications regarding the EMA Competition. All changes to an entry can only be made by the nominator or authorized agent named on the entry form. You do not have to be a member of the Electronic Media Commission (EMC) to enter. Nominators must be at least 18 years of age and must have the appropriate consent and authorization to nominate an entry.
HOW DO I ENTER?
To enter the Electronic Media Awards (EMA), simply click on our Online Entry Form link or Download an Entry Form (pdf) to mail in via postal mail. All entries must be postmarked or received online by December 31, 2010.
Currently, we accept nominations in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Russian. A non-refundable US$125.00 entry fee is required per each category entered. Bona fide Student/Education sites may enter the competition under the Student/Education category for US$45 (proof of status may be required).
ENTRY FEES

ENTRY DEADLINE
The deadline for entry is December 31, 2010. No entries will be accepted after December 31, 2010. The EMA competition is currently underway and open for entry.
MAILING INSTRUCTIONS

MEDIA CATEGORIES
Websites, Flash, Video (Short Film, Webcast, Streaming Media) Videogame, Interactive Multimedia (CD-Rom, DVD-Rom, DVD Video, Kiosk, Presentations).
Websites
Websites can be submitted via URL only. URLs to be judged should be available from January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010. If your entry is a Flash-based website, it should be entered in the Flash category.
Flash
Flash media projects can be viewed by URL or on CD-Rom. If you are entering Flash media on CD-Rom, you may still use the online entry form to enter your project. Please complete the online form and attach a copy of the receipt to the Flash media on CD-Rom to be sent via postal mail.
Video - Short Film / Webcasts / Streaming Media
Video, short film, webcasts, and streaming media projects can be viewed by URL or on CD/DVD-Rom. If you are entering a video / short film / webcast / streaming media on CD/DVD-Rom, you may still use the online entry form to enter your project. Please complete the online form and attach a copy of the receipt to the webcast / streaming media on CD/DVD-Rom to be sent via postal mail. Video projects can be sent on the following formats: DVD / CD (Quicktime, Windows Media, Real Media). Sorry, VHS IS NOT ACCEPTED. We are a digital competition!
Interactive Multimedia - CD-Rom / DVD / DVD-Rom / Kiosk / Presentations
Please send 1 copy of the CD-Rom / DVD / DVD-Rom / Kiosk via mail postmarked by the deadline. You may use the online entry form to enter your project. Please complete the online form and attach a copy of the receipt to the CD-Rom / DVD / DVD-Rom / Kiosk to be sent via postal mail. Interactive (Director, etc) and Presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc) projects can be sent on the following formats: Web URL, DVD / CD (Quicktime, Windows Media, Real Media).
Video Game
Video games can be viewed online, on CD-Rom, or a specified game format (i.e. DVD, Console, etc.) If your game is not available online, you may still use the online entry form to enter your project. Please complete the online form and attach a copy of the receipt to the video game to be sent via postal mail.
AWARD LEVELS
Winning entries are awarded either a Gold, Silver, or Bronze. All Gold winners are eligible for the EMA Best in Category Award. EMA Best in Category winners are eligible to win the coveted EMA Best in Show Award (the highest honor of the Electronic Media Awards). For more information please read about EMA Award Levels.
WINNERS
Winners will be notified by email one week prior to the general announcement of EMA winners tentatively set for January-February, 2011.
Winners will receive an Official EMA Award Logo to place on your webpage or other digital media, linking your site to a unique award page on the EMA website and becoming part of an elite network of Search Engine Optimized sites with a successful PageRank. EMA Winners also will receive one EMA Winners Certificate per winning entry, ready for framing in a standard 8.5" x 11" frame and customized with the winning project's information (additional copies may be purchased if needed). Bragging rights are also included - you've earned it!
EMA winners are also eligible to order an optional Prixm Award Trophy (pictured) custom engraved with the winning entry's information.
TERMS OF ENTRY
Due to the number of entries that we receive, we cannot return any entry materials. By submitting your entry either online or via postal mail in the Electronic Media Awards competition, you certify that you are the creator, owner, or are authorized to promote on behalf of the owner or creator of the intellectual property contained in your entry. Any misrepresentation of the work, creators, or owners identity is the sole responsibilty of the entrant. You agree to hold the Electronic Media Awards and Electronic Media Commission (EMC) harmless for any and all errors, innacuracies, falsities or mistaken identities contained in any entry. All materials submitted for the EMA Competition become the property of the Electronic Media Awards and/or EMC. We reserve the right to use all submitted materials in the advertisement and/or promotion of the work and/or the EMA or EMC.

All persons entering the Electronic Media Awards (EMA) competition must accept the following Competition Rules. We strongly suggest you read them carefully before you enter. By submitting a nomination and paying the entry fee, you are stating that you have read and accepted these rules and conditions. Entry fees are nonrefundable.
EMA COMPETITION OFFICIAL RULES
What Types of Electronic Media are Eligible for Entry?
The Electronic Media Awards competition is open to all electronic or digital media that are not ineligible or disqualified for any of the reasons listed below. These terms and conditions are at the sole discretion of the EMC and may be changed at any time without prior notice.
Websites or electronic media that were available online for any period of time in the year they are nominated are eligible for the EMA competition. If a site or entry is discontinued or made unavailable in the same year it was nominated, it remains eligible to win in that year. Winners are eligible to win the same award again only in the succeeding year.
By entering the EMA competition, each entrant certifies that their entries do not violate any Competition Rules or governing laws. EMA and the EMC reserves the right to disqualify a nomination or a winner discovered to be ineligible for any reason and at any time, with no refund of entry fees.
What Types of Electronic Media are Ineligible for Entry?
Websites, video, or other electronic media containing derivative or unoriginal material or unethical or controversial content (such as pornography or hate-speech) are not eligible for the competition, to be determined at our sole discretion. Any entry promoting or affiliated with any of the following content or subject matter will be disqualified:
* racism, sexism, heterosexism, religious prejudice or other forms of hatred or malice * pornography or explicit sexual content
* offensive or indecent subject matter
* products or services that are illegal to use, sell and/or possess in the United States
* profanity or hate-speech
* degradation, defamation or humiliation of adults, children or animals
* subject matter relating to hacking, warez or piracy * subject matter relating to cults, witchcraft or sorcery
* subject matter relating to gangs or other violent groups
* unoriginal templates, stock art, pre-existing works of art, etc
Websites or webpages hosted with free services (such as Facebook, Yahook, Geocities, MySpace, etc) are ineligible.
Winners are not eligible to win the same award (i.e. same category) in the same year.
This list is non-exclusive and we reserve the right to disqualify any entry for any reason at any time.
Protecting Intellectual Property
By submitting your entry(ies), you are agreeing to our Terms of Use and Competiton Rules and affirming that you have the necessary and required authorization to use the images, audio, video, text and other content contained therein. DO NOT enter your website or electronic media if you are in violation, or uncertain of your rights to, any copyrights, patents, trademarks or other intellectual property.
International Participation and Foreign Languages
The Electronic Media Commission (EMC), the governing body of the Electronic Media Awards competition, is responsible for providing the judges who evaluate EMA entries. Currently, we accept nominations for websites in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Russian. Sites in languages other than English are accepted but may take a bit longer to judge. If we are unable to judge your entry due to a language barrier or inability to provide at least three qualified judges, we will refund your entry fee(s).
NOTE: All awards and communications from us will always be in English, regardless of the entrys country of origin or language on the website.
Award Categories
* The same site can be nominated in more than one category (if relevant) and win multiple awards. A separate entry fee applies for each category.
* If the category you seek is not listed, you are welcome to suggest a new category by sending an e-mail to support@ElectronicMediaAwards.com. Your suggestion will be considered for future inclusion.
* EMA reserves the right to add or eliminate categories at any time.
* EMA reserves the right to re-categorize or reject entries that clearly have no association with the category under which the entry was submitted.
Winning an Award
* Award winners will automatically receive the EMA Digital Award Icon, which can be placed on the winning website and links to a unique awards page on our website.
* Not all submissions win an award. In fact, only a small percentage of entries make it through our judging process successfully.
* Entries that do not win an award or are disqualified will receive an e-mail notification of this result. Judges may, at their own discretion, include their reasoning and offer ideas for improvement in this notification (but EMA does not guarantee this).
* EMA digital icons made available to competition winners may not be altered in any way, shape or form, without written consent from EMA. Altering any of our awards without authorization can result in your winners page being removed from our website and legal action.
* Entries that do not win an award or are disqualified without prejudice are eligible to re-enter the competition after 30 days from the official announcement
* The manner and details of announcing award winners is strictly within the discretion of EMA. Persons entering the competition understand that all awards may not be given or publicized in the same manner.
* Entrants in the Electronic Media Awards competition agree to have their website name, URL, screenshot and other winning site information listed on an EMA website.
Judging Process
* Winners will be notified by email one week prior to the general announcement of EMA winners tentatively set for January-February, 2011.
* All decisions by our judges are final; they cannot be appealed.

Entry Fees and Foreign Currency
* In order to cover our operating and marketing expenses and discourage frivolous entries, there is a required entry fee per category of US$125. Bona fide Student/Education entries entering the competition under the Student/Education category can enter for US$45 (proof of status may be required).
* Entry fees are nonrefundable, except when a language barrier prevents us from judging your site.
* Payment is accepted via PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Checks. We accept major credit cards via PayPal's secure online entry form. A nomination is considered entered once your completed entry form and payment are received by us. You will receive a confirmation e-mail once we receive your entry. Persons wanting to enter the competition using a check or money order will be provided with these options during the check-out process. Also, you can enter the competition offline by filling out this downloadable Official Entry Form (pdf).
* Entry fees for multiple categories can be combined onto one check.
* Payment is preferred in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank. For payments in foreign currencies, a US$50 exchange fee must be added.
